Giving People Some Slack

Life is messy, and people aren’t perfect. Sometimes, we get mad at others—like our parents, friends, or neighbors—for things they’ve done that hurt us. But holding a grudge often ignores the bigger picture. Take parents, for example. They might mess up because it’s their first time raising kids. They’re learning, just like we are. Everyone’s living life for the first time, so mistakes are part of the deal.

It’s the same with relatives or close friends. They might say or do something thoughtless, but it’s usually not worth staying angry. Life is short. One day, those people might be gone, and you’ll wish you hadn’t wasted time on petty grudges. Instead, focus on the good times, show love, and appreciate what you have while it’s here. Let’s give each other some slack—nobody’s got it all figured out.
